aggregate

One number that summarises many readings, such as their average or maximum.

An aggregate function (count, min, max, mean, sum) reduces the points in a group or window to one value.

Examples

  • For each hour, the greenhouse query returns AVG, MIN, MAX and COUNT of temp_c, turning dozens of readings into the avg_c, min_c and max_c columns.
