Free public beta until December 4, 2026: every course is open, no card needed. After that, the first chapter of each course stays free and full access is a one-time $39 ($19 for up to 100 founding members chosen for helpful feedback). Your progress is kept. How the beta works

broadcast address

The last address of a subnet, with all host bits 1; a packet sent there goes to every device on the subnet.

The broadcast address has every host bit set to 1; IPv4 delivers a packet sent to it to all hosts on the subnet.

Examples

  • For the sensor at 192.168.1.37/24, setting every host bit to 1 gives the broadcast address 192.168.1.255.

  • The last usable host on 192.168.1.0/24 is the broadcast address minus 1, 192.168.1.254.
