Free public beta until December 4, 2026: every course is open, no card needed. After that, the first chapter of each course stays free and full access is a one-time $39 ($19 for up to 100 founding members chosen for helpful feedback). Your progress is kept. How the beta works

network address

The first address of a subnet, with all host bits 0; it names the subnet itself.

The network address has every host bit set to 0 and names the subnet; it is not assigned to a device on ordinary subnets.

Examples

  • For the sensor at 192.168.1.37/24, setting the host bits to 0 gives the network address 192.168.1.0.

  • The first usable host on 192.168.1.0/24 is the network address plus 1, 192.168.1.1, here the router.
