GATT

How a connected BLE device organizes its data into services and characteristics.

The Generic Attribute Profile structures a server's data as services containing characteristics, each with a UUID, a value and properties such as read, write and notify.

Examples

  • The greenhouse sensor's GATT table holds an Environmental Sensing service with a Temperature characteristic a phone can read.

  • Anything beyond the 31-byte advertising payload is read through GATT after connecting.
