halt condition
A rule written in advance that stops a rollout when too many devices fail.
A halt condition is a pre-agreed threshold on health signals, such as a failure rate per stage, that automatically stops a staged rollout from proceeding.
Examples
For the 160-device greenhouse fleet, the 4-device canary stage halts if 2 or more devices fail, a 25 % limit written before the rollout starts.
A device that took the release and hasn't reported within the soak time counts as a failure toward the halt condition, not a success.
