JSON

A text format for data made of objects (named fields in braces), arrays (lists in brackets), strings, numbers, true, false and null.

JSON (JavaScript Object Notation, RFC 8259) is a UTF-8 text format whose values are objects, arrays, strings, numbers, true, false or null; it is the most common payload format for IoT telemetry.

Examples

  • The greenhouse reading {"t":21.5,"rh":64} is a JSON object with two fields, 18 bytes of text.

  • [21.5, 21.6, 21.4] is a JSON array holding three temperature readings in order.
