telemetry
Measurements a device sends home, like temperature readings.
Telemetry is the stream of measurements and status a device reports upward, usually published on a schedule.
Examples
"21.5 °C on bench 1", sent up from the greenhouse node every 10 seconds, is telemetry: if one reading is lost, the next arrives soon.
A battery level reported every few minutes is telemetry, because each new value simply replaces the one before.
