diagnostic

A message from the compiler: an error, warning, note, or help.

A diagnostic is a compiler message with a severity, an optional code (E0382), a location span, and notes or suggestions.

Examples

  • error[E0308]: mismatched types followed by --> src/main.rs:2:22 gives one diagnostic's level, code, file, line and column.
