A compiler message about code that compiles but looks wrong.

A warning reports a problem that doesn't stop compilation, such as an unused variable; a clean build has none.

Examples

  • let bonus = 50; with bonus never used gives warning: unused variable: bonus, yet the program still builds and runs.
