SIMD register

A wide register (128, 256 or 512 bits) that holds several values side by side so one instruction can work on all of them. Often called a vector register.

A SIMD register is an architectural register wide enough to hold several elements at once (x86-64 xmm 128-bit, ymm 256-bit, zmm 512-bit; ARM64 v0-v31 128-bit, SVE z registers of implementation-defined length), divided into lanes by each instruction that uses it.
