notification

The BLE device pushing a new value to the connected phone without being asked.

A notification sends a characteristic's new value to a subscribed client without acknowledgement; an indication is the acknowledged form.

Examples

  • The sensor sketch calls notify() every 2 seconds, and the phone receives each new temperature without asking.

  • The phone subscribes by writing 01 00 to the characteristic's CCCD.
