mutual TLS
TLS in which both sides show certificates, so each checks the other.
Mutual TLS is a TLS handshake in which the server requests and verifies a client certificate in addition to presenting its own.
Examples
In the greenhouse, the node checks the broker's certificate and the broker checks the node's client certificate, so neither side can be impersonated with a stolen password alone.
