Withdrawing a device's credential before it expires, so the next connection with it is refused.

Revocation marks a credential (a password entry or a certificate) as no longer valid before its expiry; the service checks the revocation state when the credential is presented.

Examples

To revoke a stolen bench node's certificate, add it to Mosquitto's crlfile and disconnect the node, since revocation is only checked when a connection is made.
