station mode

Wi-Fi mode where the device joins an existing network as a client.

In station (STA) mode the ESP32 associates with an access point as a client and gets an address from the network's DHCP server.

Examples

  • WiFi.mode(WIFI_STA) puts the greenhouse node in station mode, so it joins the home router's network as a client.

  • In station mode the access point runs the network, and the node gets its address, such as 192.168.1.37, from the router by DHCP.
